Queen Padme to be Jane Foster? Such is the case as Marvel Studios announced today that Natalie Portman will star opposite Chris Hemsworth in Kenneth Branagh’s adaptation of Thor. The Academy-award nominated actress will play the nurse, Jane Foster, who becomes Thor’s first love. Filming is set to begin in early 2010 for a May 20, 2011 release. Portman will next be seen in Jim Sheridan’s drama Brothers opposite Jake Gyllenhaal and Tobey Maguire. While she was nominated for a supporting actress for her role in Mike Nichols’ Closer, Portman is best known to sci-fi fans for her role as Queen Padme Amidala in the Star Wars Trilogy.

Milla Jovovich has signed up to star in Resident Evil 4.

The sci-fi horror film will begin shooting in Toronto in September, Empire reports, with the Ukrainian-born model, actress and fashion designer once again starring as action heroine Alice.

The script for Resident Evil: Afterlife will be written by Milla’s fiance Paul WS Anderson, who wrote all the other films and directed the first, Resident Evil.

Gossip Girl is expecting a few interesting guest stars for season three and some of them have already been spotted on set.

Last week, a fan met Joanna Garcia on the set of Gossip Girl. Joanna, who starred in Privileged, is in NYC filming with Chace Crawford. She will play Nate’s new love interest in the beginning of the season.

A judge on Tuesday sentenced Chris Brown to five years’ probation and six months’ community labor for the beating of Rihanna and ordered the R&B singer to stay away from his former girlfriend for the next five years.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg told Brown that he could be sent to state prison if he violated any terms of his sentence, including an order to stay 100 yards away from Rihanna unless they’re attending music industry events.

A source said: ‘Gwyneth was afraid she’d be upstaged by Scarlett and not being in the campaign was the final straw.
