Breastfeeding helped Ali Landry drop 25 of her 35 pregnancy pounds. But the 36-year-old Eve actress wasn’t feeling in great shape. “I was skinny-fat. I was already back in my regular clothes, but I definitely wasn’t in shape.”
Motivation hit when ABC asked her to participate in The Superstars, the network’s sports challenge. “It really lit a fire under me,” says Ali, who placed fifth with her partner on the show, retired baseball star Jeff Kent. “I thought, I don’t know where that camera’s going to be angled, so I’d better get it together!”
By sticking to a mix of stretching, cardio and calisthenics – as well as food delivery from Chef’s Diet – Ali lost the last 10 pounds of baby weight. She even shed an additional 5, putting her at a toned 134 pounds after two months. “I’m less than my starting weight!” Ali proudly states. “I’m in the best shape of my life.”
The mother of one may have undergone breast augmentation to help her pop out of the small bikini tops she is best known for wearing.
Plastic surgeon Dr. Sherrell J Aston says, “Ali Laundry has a terrific body. Ali’s photographs in a bikini suggest that she has had breast implants. I do not see any indication that she has had any other procedures.”
On the other hand, Ali may also be naturally beautiful as she doesn’t have an overly plastic look and her breasts don’t have the “bolted-on” appearance favored by swimsuit models.
New York plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer says, “Ali Landry is certainly beautiful. It is unclear from the photographs whether she has had any cosmetic procedures. However, in the photos her breast look natural and I do not see any signs of surgery.”
Dr. Paul S. Nassif, a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Specialist in Beverly Hills, Calif., said, “Ali Landry looks amazing, and it appears to be due to her own set of genes. She surely took the natural route, and should not change a thing.”
Ali Landry has gone from Doritos to diapers, and from diapers to dresses.
The model/actress/former pageant queen was in Las Vegas last week promoting the latter – a line of pretty, pastel-hued dresses for baby girls – at the ABC Kids Expo.
While she hopes to build her line, Belle Parish, into an all-encompassing lifestyle brand that would rival Martha Stewart, Landry’s has a way to go before achieving domestic diva status.
Unlike many celeb moms in Hollywood, Ali Landry didn’t jump right back into exercising just weeks after having a baby. Not at all.
In fact, the former Doritos girl took almost two years off from working out following the July 2007 birth of daughter Estela with her husband, film director Alejandro Gomez Monteverde.
All working moms have to tackle the issue of childcare at some point, and celebrity working moms are no exception. They have more resources at their disposal, however, and Ali Landry counts herself lucky to be able to afford a live-in nanny named Felicitas. “We are so grateful that it is within our budget,” Ali tells Goddess. “She is a family friend and we absolutely adore her.” Because both Ali and her husband Alejandro Gomez Monteverde work and their families reside in Louisiana and Mexico, respectively, daycare simply wasn’t a feasible option for the couple’s 20-month-old daughter Estela Ines.
“We needed to have someone that we were completely comfortable with who was available at a moment’s notice. For us, the best choice was to get a live-in nanny.”
