The husband of actress Brittany Murphy was found dead Sunday night at his home in the Hollywood Hills, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

At 9:24 p.m. Sunday, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a 911 call for an “unspecified medical aid request,” according to spokesman Brian Humphrey. Fire Department personnel provided medical services to Monjack, and he was pronounced dead, according to a Los Angeles police sergeant, who declined to give his name, at the Hollywood Station late Sunday night. The sergeant said detectives were arriving at the home.

Brittany Murphy’s husband Simon Monjack has taken her 8,000-square-foot Hollywood Hills home off the market. The five bedroom, seven-bathroom home on Rising Glen Road, where Murphy passed away, was listed at a steep $7.25 million. Zillow currently estimates the house at $5 million.

According to TMZ, Murphy’s mother, Sharon, felt uncomfortable showing the house with her daughter’s belongings inside. No word on whether the home will be put back on the market at a later date once the belongings are removed.

Murphy purchased the Hollywood Hills home for $3.85 million in 2003 from another Brit, Britney Spears. It was Spears’ first Hollywood home. Until Murphy’s death, the home was occupied by Murphy, her mother and husband. Murphy left her entire estate in her will to her mother. Monjack had said that he and Sharon wanted to get out of Los Angeles and put the home up for sale in March for $7.25 million. They had been planning to move to New York, separately but together.

Brittany Murphy  received hundreds of pills a month from a Los Angeles pharmacy using aliases like Lola Manilow Murphy, a report on TMZ.com claims.

Pharmacy records from Eddie’s Pharmacy show the doomed “Clueless” star received “no fewer than 200 pills … and sometimes as many as 400″ every month from January 2008 through August 2009, according to the site.

Owner Eddie Bubar said he cut off Murphy, her mother Sharon and husband Simon Monjack four months before Murphy’s death in December.

“We thought there was going to be an accident there,” he told TMZ.

The more than 100 prescriptions for the trio reportedly included Vicodin, Klonopin and other drugs.

Troubled starlet Brittany Murphy filled a prescription for the painkiller Vicodin just 11 days before her death late last year but 109 pills were missing when she was found collapsed in her home Dec. 20, The New York Post reported Saturday, citing a coroner’s office report.

The official cause of death has been ruled pneumonia and drug intoxication. The report says the 32-year-old “8 Mile” actress was issued 120 pills of Vicodin on Dec. 9, and only 11 were left in the bottle when she suddenly died at her Los Angeles home.

The gossip Web site TMZ is also reporting Saturday that the LA coroner’s office can’t locate the doctor who issued the prescription.

It isn’t clear why Murphy was prescribed the painkiller. Vicodin is supposed to be taken no more than four times daily, the site reported, making the max she should have taken in that time would be 44 instead of 109.

The coroner’s office has Murphy’s death an accident, and said she died of pneumonia and drug intoxication. “Iron deficiency anemia” was also cited as a cause.

Brittany Murphy’s widower Simon Monjack has begun giving back donations after the charity he set up in his ex-wife’s name was shut down – but insists he only managed to collect a total of $800.

After the Murphy’s sudden death in December 2009, her grieving husband set up the Brittany Murphy Foundation in her honor.

He even planned a charity gala for the launch of the foundation last month, charging $1,000 a ticket, but canceled the bash at the last minute.

It was later revealed the foundation was not legally registered as a charity with the state of California, and a statement was issued through the organization’s website revealing all donations would be handed back until non-profit status is approved.

Monjack tells TMZ.com he has started the process of handing back all the money the organization received, but reveals it only totaled $800. He insists plans to resurrect the foundation are going ahead and he is taking the “the proper steps” to make sure the organization is registered.

Movie executives at Warner Brothers are firing back at “false, reprehensible, and defamatory” accusations leveled at them by Simon Monjack, Murphy’s widower.

Monjack has indicated he’s planning to file a wrongful-death suit against the movie studio execs for allegedly firing the actress from “Happy Feet 2” two weeks prior to her Dec. 20, 2009 death.

According to Monjack, his late wife suffered a heart attack as a result of stress related to being let go from the project.

Monjack recently commented to TheDailyBeast.com, “They killed her… She was devastated. All she wanted to do was to make movies. She was waiting for the role that would revive her career, waiting for the call from Penny Marshall or Gary Fleder, people she had worked with before, that they might remember how talented an actress she was and call with a new magical role.”

Brittany Murphy was devastated when her career ground to a halt after she decided to sacrifice acting roles to look after her sick mother. The Clueless star passed away on the 20th of December (09) after suffering a cardiac arrest at her Hollywood Hills home. Her widower Simon Monjack admits the actress was heartbroken about the ongoing lull in her career, after her character was written out of Sylvester Stallone’s upcoming blockbuster The Expendables. The film would have marked Murphy’s return to the big screen after years off to nurse her cancer-stricken mum.

Monjack tells U.S. talk show host Larry King, “(The public outpouring of support after her death) was unbelievable. And I think Brittany would have been more surprised than anybody. You know, her career, by her own admission, in the last few years – five or six – had taken a downturn.”

Murphy’s mum adds, “There was (a downturn) for probably the last maybe five years. I got really sick. You know, I had cancer twice. And she had initially taken off to be with me in the hospital and slept there every day for the four weeks, five weeks I was there and was just with me always and, you know, controlling all the doctors and making sure all the right things were done. I just never dreamed that (she would die first). You know, I always thought it would be me, not her.”

Monjack admits Murphy believed she was being ostracised from Hollywood, adding: “It’s funny, Brittany and I spoke about this often. And she had her theories – a rumour – the theory was that she had upset the wrong people at the wrong time. (But) she was the kindest, sweetest person. I think it was more that she was too kind, too sweet, too – she was this bubble that existed in a plane beyond ours.”

Brittany Murphy’s cause of death has been determined — an accidental death caused by “community acquired pneumonia,” iron deficiency anemia, and multiple drug intoxication.

The L.A. County Coroner concludes on the subject of “How injury occurred” — “Drug intake.”

Brittany Murphy’s sudden death at age 32 is under investigation by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, which will conduct an autopsy “as soon as possible,” an official tells PEOPLE.

No cause of death has yet been determined, but according to coroner’s Capt. John Kades, “Foul play is not suspected at this time because there were no outward signs of trauma or other injuries.”

Murphy was “found unresponsive” in her home in the hills above West Hollywood on Sunday morning, Kades said. Paramedics transported her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 10:04 a.m.

“We don’t have an autopsy scheduled yet, but we will do it as soon as possible,” Kades said. “Given all the worldwide attention, if we can get it done [Monday], we will.”

A toxicology test looking for the presence of alcohol and drugs will also be conducted, but the results will not be available for weeks.

Los Angeles police detectives also arrived at Murphy’s house in what a police spokesman called a “routine” death investigation.

One of Murphy’s neighbors said that paramedics were inside her house for nearly an hour before she was taken to an ambulance on a stretcher.

“One paramedic was still working on her,” said the female neighbor. “First, I couldn’t even tell that it was Brittany that was on the stretcher. I looked like an older woman. Brittany was completely white and her face was covered with a mask. You could tell that something horrible had happened.”

Brittany Murphy is dead of a heart attack at 32.

She went into full cardiac arrest early Sunday  and could not be revived, the Website TMZ reported.

The Los Angeles City Fire Department got a call from the home of Murphy’s husband Simon Monjack about 8 a.m., fire officials told TMZ.

She was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead on arrival

Murphy starred in “8 Mile,” and “Don’t Say a Word.”

The starlet became a household name among teens in 1995 as the sidekick in “Clueless,” who went from awkward wall flower to snotty hottie.

A few years ago, she released the single “Faster Kill Pussycat,” which became a dance club hit.

Her last big movie was “Sin City” in 2005.
