On Tuesday, barely two months after it was announced that Brittany Snow would be starring in a retro “Gossip Girl” spinoff entitled “Lily,” Entertainment Weekly reporter Michael Ausiello “officially” confirmed the show was dead. Today, however, in a clear sign that “GG” fans still have a chance at seeing Lily Rhodes in all of her 1980’s, Los Angeles glory, CW president Dawn Ostroff announced the show has a strong likelihood of becoming a mid-season replacement.

Once again Brittany Snow is going back to the past.

After exploring the 1960s in the NBC series “American Dreams” and the musical comedy “Hairspray,” the Tampa native is tripping back to the 1980s on The CW’s “Gossip Girl.”

In flashback segments, Snow plays the 17-year-old incarnation of Lily van der Woodson, a “Gossip Girl” character played by Kelly Rutherford.

Brittany Snow is toplining indie drama “Walks” along with RZA, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Jessica Szohr and Rumer Willis.

Eric Amadio is directing from his own script, and is producing alongside Mike Warner, Jonathan Sachar and Patrick Durham. The film is a co-production between Final Cut Collective and Durham/Sachar Prods., and is being financed by Morningstar Films. Production will start in May in Gotham.
