Kelly Clarkson has been given the edge over Carie Underwood in Billboard’s measure of the most successful American Idol veterans. Though Underwood outranks Clarkson in albums sold (moving 11.5 million, compared to Clarkson’s 10.6 million), Clarkson has sold more singles and has also had more radio spins.
The news comes at a busy time for Clarkson, who is currently promoting her latest single, “All I Ever Wanted,” the third from her 2009 release of the same name. The track hit radio airwaves in March and debuted at number 99 on the Billboard Hot 100. It peaked at 96.
Six days after its release, the track became available for download on iTunes and has since sold 89,000 downloads.
Not letting the rumors last long, Carrie Underwood acted fast and quickly shot down the idea that she was moving in with boyfriend, Mike Fisher.
The country singing cutie took to her website, saying, “I read something recently that a certain someone and I were moving in together. This is beyond not true…just another example of people making stuff up out of thin air!”
She went on to say that “neither one of us would ever do that. I would never live with my boyfriend…not my style.”
Carrie Underwood’s TV holiday special features her singing with Christina Applegate and Kristin Chenoweth.
The three attractive blondes sing a 1960s medley a spywitness told RadarOnline.com. And, the same source says you will be pleasantly surprised at how well Kristin sings!
The special is tentatively titled Carrie Underwood: An All-Star Holiday Special and set to air on Fox December 7.
Thought you might appreciate this from Carrie Underwood. It as the retro, Vietnam-era touches. So maybe the country western establishment hasn’t grown the stones to make a commentary on the futility of the present war yet. Still, it does give some degree of fair warning to young would-be brides and grooms.
Carrie Underwood captured the entertainer of the year at the Academy of Country Music Awards.
“I’ve had a lot of good moments in the past four years. This one takes the cake,” the tearful former “American Idol” champ said. “Thank you God, thank you fans, thank you to ACM for nominating me in the first place. I never thought I’d be nominated and never thought I’d win. I’m shaking. I don’t know what to say.”
