Courteney Cox plays a man-hungry divorcee on the prowl in “Cougar Town,” but off-screen, the actress is a doting wife and mother who may be expanding her brood.

Cox’s husband, actor David Arquette, recently revealed the couple has been considering giving their 5-year-old daughter, Coco, a little sister or brother.

Cox, 45, underwent in-vitro fertilization for her first pregnancy at age 39.

“I don’t know. I mean, it takes a lot for us to do it, so maybe adoption,” Arquette, 38, said on “The Bonnie Hunt Show.” “Listen, I like practicing as much as possible! But it’s hard … I’m exhausted!”

Last year, the National Enquirer reported that the couple was planning to adopt a child after Cox “reached a point where she feels it’s hopeless to keep trying to get pregnant.”

The former Friends star had spoken of her desire to expand her family with husband David Arquette, and recent reports said that Cox has been looking into adoption to give their five-year-old daughter Coco a sibling.

But the 45-year-old actress’s representative has dismissed the rumours, insisting the report is a “complete fabrication,” according to GossipCop.Com.

Rumours also had it that Cox recruited help from My Big Fat Greek Wedding star Nia Vardalos as she is this year’s National Adoption Day Coalition spokesperson.

Cox is not the only Friends star to face baby speculation. Earlier this week her pal Jennifer Aniston also had to deny rumours she’s looking to adopt a child.

Shooting for the series took her to the beach where she had to strip down to a white bikini for a scene and at 45, she still knows how to fill out a bathing suit.

The ABC show, which stopped filming briefly last week so star Courteney Cox could attend to a “family matter,” resumes production Nov. 30 following an already-planned weeklong break for Thanksgiving, the network says.

The nature of the family issue wasn’t disclosed. But Cox’s reps confirm to PEOPLE the actress and her family are fine and that she’ll be returning to work following the Thanksgiving hiatus.

“We can confirm production on Cougar Town has been temporarily shut down in order for Courteney to deal with a private family matter,” ABC said in a statement Saturday.

David Arquette and Courteney Cox have signed on to reunite with the Ghostface killer.

“We are going to be doing Scream 4,” Arquette just told me from New York City, where he’s hanging out in plastic box over Madison Square Garden for Feeding America. “Kevin Williamson is writing the script at this moment, and hopefully Wes Craven is going to direct.”

Former ‘Friends’ stars Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox have reportedly had a falling out, according to reports.

Cox is apparently devastated that her former co-star has refused to appear in her new sitcom ‘Cougar Town.’

The pair have “barely spoken” in recent weeks, with Aniston choosing to spend more time with W star Elizabeth Banks, EntertainmentWise reports.

A source tells US tabloid Globe: “The pilot meant the world to Courteney as she’s not only starring but is also an executive producer.

“She thought Jen’s star power would help sell the pilot as a series. Courteney’s crushed.”

The source added: “Jen talks to Elizabeth most nights and she’s like her soul mate. There’s a feeling among Jen’s pals that Elizabeth ‘gets’ Jen more than anyone right now.”
