Jaime Pressly is returning to TV comedies.
The “My Name Is Earl” actress has joined CBS’ pilot that was previously under the working title “Livin’ on a Prayer,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The comedy by “How I Met Your Mother” team Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, joined by Kourtney Kang and Joe Kelly, stars Kyle Bornheimer as Tommy, who’s been dating Gina for a while and is thinking of taking the next step.
Pressly will play a veterinarian who works with Tommy at the zoo.
She won a best supporting actress Emmy for her role as Joy Turner on NBC’s now defunct “Earl.”
“We just got back from our honeymoon,” Jaime Pressly, the new wife of Simran Singh, told PEOPLE at the Opening Night Gala for Kooza Cirque Du Soleil at the Santa Monica Pier Saturday. “It feels like we are a team, it’s really an amazing feeling.”
The team, though, wouldn’t be complete without Pressly’s 2-year-old son Dezi, who was the focus of the evening. “I’m just excited for my son to see [the show], Pressly said of the toddler’s first time at a Cirque Du Soleil performance.
An evening out on the town isn’t typical for the My Name Is Earl star, a self-described homebody who can be found most nights cooking at home with Singh and Dezi, who is becoming fluent in Spanish and English. The one change marriage has brought for Pressly is “we’re more complete,” she said. “We’re just more of a family now.”
Only hours after they said “I Do”, My Name Is Earl star Jaime Pressly and new hubby Simran Singh got into a huge fight, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.
“Jaime seemed like she had had a few too many drinks,” an eyewitness tells RadarOnline.com. “She skipped out on having more drinks with the rest of her party and her and Simran went up to their room.
“A few hours later though Simran reappeared and said that he and Jaime had had a huge fight and that she had thrown him out of the room!
“Simran was in the process of getting another room sorted out for just himself when he made a private call up to their former room.
“Thankfully he must of said the right things to Jaime because he said he was back in her good books and he went back up to her room.”
The canceled comedy “My Name Is Earl” may not be dead after all, thanks (possibly) to TBS.
The cable channel and 20th Century Fox TV, which produces the series, have started talks on reviving the show, The Hollywood Reporter says. They’re negotiating a 13-episode pickup for the show, which ran for four seasons on NBC and was one of the more notable cancellations at last month’s upfronts.
Rumors that another network would pick up the show hadn’t gone anywhere until now. Such a move would make sense for TBS, which already produces several original comedies and runs repeats of “Earl” on Monday nights. The show goes into daily syndication on TBS in the fall.
