The pitter-patter of tiny celeb feet may well be on the cards for the singer, Mariah Carey and her husband Nick Cannon.

A friend of the couple is reported to have told a US website that Mariah and Nick are expecting their first child.

The media began to wonder if Mariah was planning a new addition to the family in March this year when the singer hinted at the happy news. Speaking at the Independent Spirit Awards, Mariah revealed: ”I have a lot of new acting projects coming up. I‘m talking to (director Lee Daniels) about three movies.

”But there‘s also something else very special on the way. I can‘t say any more.”

And after the 40-year-old pulled out of a film project recently, it seemed only a matter of time before an announcement was made, which, seemingly, has come in the form of a close friend speaking to RadarOnline.com: ”They‘re both very excited and very happy.

”Mariah and Nick want to keep the pregnancy quiet as long as they can.”

IT was Radar Online.com which broke out the news (rumor) of the pregnancy of Mariah Carey. The source got information regarding her pregnancy from an other source which is close to the couple. The pop diva is married to Nick Cannon. The couple got married in 2008 and renewed their vows last month when they were celebrating their two year anniversary. Moreover, it is also a perception that the couple wants to keep the news of their child’s birth secret as long as possible. However, they both have pointed out toward the possibility of having a baby.

The further confirmation about her pregnancy is found from her decision of canceling the show. She refused to work in a leading role of the movie named For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf which is produced by Tyler Perry. She would have thought to give birth to the baby and devote her time which she was going to spend for the movie for her upcoming baby. The news of her pregnancy were however not confirmed by her publicist Cyndi Berger. She in fact made no clear statement in this regard. She rather said that she had no liberty to talk about the personal life of the diva. The rumors of her pregnancy have been circulating around since May when both Mariah and Nick were spotted exterior to a medical clinic at Los Angeles. The five-acre estate, which was built by Texan billionaire David Saperstein, includes 15 bedrooms, a spa and pool with a pavilion, a championship tennis court, staff quarters for 10, a nine-car garage and a private jogging track.

TRL finally came to an end tonight.

It was like old times in MTV’s Times Square studio. There were superstars everywhere you looked, frantic stagehands darting about, and down below — packed against police barricades — screaming kids … lots of screaming kids.

Beyonce, Ashlee Simpson, Christina Aguilera, Miley Cyrus, Mariah Carey and plenty of others all made appearences on the finalle.

Carson Daly closed out the night at 11pm EST.
