“Tom Cruise And Reese Witherspoon To Be In A Movie Together” should be a strong enough headline to propel any production and get some attention from the mass audience. After all, the two actors are some of the biggest stars of the last 20 years. So when news broke in March  that they would be doing a movie together set in the world of rodeo it was big enough news. Apparently someone might not think there is enough star-power there.

Access Hollywood reports that Cruise was recently seen with Will Smith and a host of others at a restaurant where they were holding a table read for the aforementioned rodeo movie, titled Paper Wings. In addition to Smith, the other actors included Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Eric Dane, Tom Arnold, Johnny Galecki and Jenna Elfman. A representative for Smith’s company, which is producing the film, was quick to push down any prospective rumors, however, saying that “any actor’s presence at this table read does not mean that they have officially signed onto this project.”

It’s entirely possible that Smith was only there to oversee the table read as a producer as the report doesn’t say whether or not the actor was going over lines, but don’t you kind of hope that he will be involved? As unpopular as he is at the moment, Cruise still knows how to put on a terrific performance and seeing him act alongside a guy like Smith could remind an audience of that. Considering the actor is a bit busy with over 30 projects in development it’s not something I would put money on, but it would be good to see nonetheless.

Jake Gyllenhaal has reportedly not given up on winning back ex-girlfriend Reese Witherspoon.

The 29-year-old actor dated his Rendition co-star Witherspoon, 33, for two years before splitting at the end of 2009.

It is claimed that Witherspoon called time on the relationship when she realised that she’s not ready to marry but Gyllenhaal is now trying to win her back.

He reportedly sent the Legally Blonde star a $75,000 gift of vintage dinnerware from France for Christmas and has also sent emails and flowers.

According to reports Jake Gyllenhaal is planning to propose to girlfriend Reese Witherspoon over the holidays.

The couple denied rumours that they had ended their relationship in late November.

According to entertainment website ‘Popeater’, it is thought that Gyllenhaal will present Witherspoon with an engagement ring for Christmas.

“Reese is a traditional sort of lady, which is one of the many things Jake adores about her, and Christmas is her favourite holiday,” said a source quoted by the website.

Out for another day of filming,  Reese Witherspoon was spotted readying to shoot a few scenes on the set of the new James Brooks comedy “At Bat” in Philadelphia.

Sporting a Team USA jacket, the “Legally Blonde” babe has been hard at work while her ex-hubby Ryan Phillippe has been manning parental duties for the couple’s two children, Ava and Deacon.

Reese Witherspoon has bottled up her creativity to make her first, fresh fragrance.

The actress is a global ambassador for Avon and is teaming up with the brand to launch her own perfume called In Bloom, Women’s Wear Daily reports.

“It was a unique experience for me because I had no idea what goes into making perfumes,” Witherspoon, 33, told WWD. “I thought you just pick a fragrance and it’s easy. But there were all these different levels of creating a scent that were new to me, but really fun and exciting.”

In Bloom is set to hit stores worldwide in November.

Reese Witherspoon will show off her softball skills in an upcoming movie when she plays a professional sportswoman.

Angelina Jolie is the hottest mum in showbiz, according to a new online poll.

The mother-of-six topped a survey carried out by MSN.co.uk to find Hollywood’s sexiest parent, landing 29 per cent of the votes registered.

Halle Berry and Reese Witherspoon shared second place, ahead of Kate Winslet and Katie Holmes.

Reese Witherspoon wants to move her career in a different direction. She would like to land a part in an action movie.

She voices the new 3D animation picture Monsters Vs Aliens, and admits the picture has inspired her to look for more explosive projects.

She says, “It might be fun, it actually has gotten me excited. I have never been in an action film before so the last third of this movie is so action-packed, it made me very excited. I think maybe I could do that.”

It looks like the tradition of the Vince Vaughn annual Christmas movie is about to be set in stone, as the big man’s second effort in two years, Four Christmases, holds on to the top spot at the US box office for a second week with $18.2million.

“Sometimes it is very difficult to make sense of how it could possibly happen. Laying blame is so easy.

“When you make wrong choices, you have to take responsibility for them: ‘What part of this do I own?’ I struggle to figure out what made me make those choices. All I can hope for is that I’ve learned something from it and won’t make the same choices again.

“Family is all we have in life, but I don’t know how I feel about marriage. Obviously, I’m not far enough out of being married to think about doing it again.”
