Salma Hayek is now Salma Hayek Pinault. She has taken husband Francois-Henri Pinault’s name.

“It was (daughter) Valentina’s request,” she says in the new issue of InStyle. “I didn’t think about it until she brought it up. We were shooting a film, and she saw my chair with my name on it. She said, ‘What does it say there?’ And I said, ‘Salma Hayek.’ And she said, ‘What about Pinault? Why not Pinault?’”

So, she explains, “I said to myself, ‘ This is who I am now.’ I’m starting a whole new life. I’ve never been happier.”

After Suri Cruise and Brangelina’s children, Mexican star Salma Hayek’s daughter Valentina is turning out to be the latest favourite star kid for the paparazzi.

Hayek recently showed off Valentina to the cast and crew of her latest flick ‘Grown Up’ while shooting in Massachusetts on Thursday, Daily mail online reported.

Dressed in jeans, trainers and a pink T-shirt with the slogan ‘sweet fish from Mexico City’, the 20-month-old Valentina Paloma Pinault looked in her element as photographers clamoured to capture her on camera, the newspaper said.

The actress and her husband, French billionaire François-Henri Pinault, tied the knot – for the second time – Saturday in a star-studded ceremony in Venice, Italy, PEOPLE has confirmed. They originally got married in a civil ceremony at the 6th Arrondisement City Hall in Paris on Valentine’s Day.

It seems that Salma Hayek will get to show off her comedy chops once more. JoBlo.com has learned that Hayek has signed on for a role in the new Adam Sandler film that’s tentatively titled Lake House.

Hayek will star along with Sandler, David Spade, Rob Schnieder, Chris Rock and Kevin James in the film, which revolves around a group of high school friends who reunited in their hometown. Hayek would play Sandler’s wife in the film and the site is also reporting that Norm MacDonald and Steve Buscemi have signed onto much smaller roles in the film. It was said the film would be similar to The Big Chill, but more comedic.

Sandler is co-writing the film with Fred Wolf and Dennis Dugan would direct. The site also reported the film would likely go into production this May in New England.

The actress married French businessman Francois-Henri Pinault this past Saturday, Feb. 14, in France, reports the Le Point newsmagazine.

Hayek and the Weinstein Company threw a party to toast Cruz and her Oscar nomination for her work in Woody Allen’s Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

Since welcoming daughter Valentina Paloma, 14 months, Salma Hayek has adopted a less-is-more approach to her career, which includes running two production companies. In her pre-mom days, the 42-year-old Academy Award-nominated actress tells the November issue of ELLE she was “a workaholic and a control freak” — but that’s no longer the case. She explains,

“I thought that’s what kept it going. But once that baby was born, I wanted to do nothing but stare at her. I realized I could step outside the business and do a lot less but a lot more effectively.”
