female celebritiesHypno Birth

Tiffani Thiessen, formerly known as Tiffani-Amber Thiessen in her early acting career, is expecting her first baby with husband Brady Smith in May 2010. For the birth, she plans to use a method called HypnoBirthing, or The Mongan Method, which uses hypnosis to promote natural childbirth.

HypnoBirthing was founded by Marie “Mickey” Mongan, M.Ed., M.Hy. of New Hampshire, an award-winning hypnotherapist, hypnoanesthesiologist, and instructor of hypnotherapy. Her method teaches that, unlike childbirth methods that teach moms to cope, severe pain does not have to be an accompaniment to labor.

Hypnosis during childbirth does not put one into a “trance”. Expectant mom is conversant and relaxed, but fully in control, aware of the baby’s progress, and active in the process of childbirth. HypnoBirthing parents learn deep abdominal breathing and total relaxation. In this calm state, the release of endorphins replaces the stress hormones that cause constriction and pain.

Classes are taught by certified practitioners who are highly qualified birthing professionals that have additional education and experience in HypnoBirthing. The program also offers “Birth Companions” that helps guide the mother during labor with hypnosis prompts, relaxation techniques, and visualizations.

Should mothers end up needing medical intervention or a surgical birth through C-section, HypnoBirthing has also been beneficial for the period before, during, and after the procedures. For example, many report needing less medication after birth and were able to return to normal functioning more quickly.

In addition to online resources for HypnoBirthing, Mongan has written an easy-to-understand guide about the process.

Tiffani Thiessen will be on the cover of Pregnancy magazine’s May issue, which will hit newsstands on April 13th.

With only three months left until her first child is due, Tiffani Thiessen is “feeling great” – and feeling differently about her diet.

“I was a vegetarian for many, many, many years and all of a sudden I started to crave red meat,” Thiessen tells PEOPLE at Thursday’s USA network and Vanity Fair bash in New York. “Crazy enough, I had a steak before I left tonight and I would never have eaten one before. One day I just woke up and craved meat.”

In addition to steaks, the White Collar star, 36, is also enjoying foot rubs from her husband, Brady Smith.

“He rubs my feet, my shoulders and he always gets anything for me even if I’m all hormonal,” she says. “I have the best husband and he’s a sweetheart.”

Jonathan Shestack (Disturbing Behavior, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past) has secured the rights to the 1989 show “Saved by the Bell” in order to turn it into a feature film.

At this point, Shestack has put producer Jeremy Stein (The Photographer) and Ginny Brewer (Dan in Real Life) on the project, which is currently out to writers.

female celebritiesThiessen Too Busy For Reunion

So this is why Jimmy Fallon can’t book Tiffani Thiessen for his “Saved by the Bell” reunion!

The 35-year-old actress is just too busy.

Thiessen addresses why the host of “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” hasn’t been able to book her to appear alongside castmates Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Mario Lopez, Lark Voorhies, Elizabeth Berkley and Dennis Haskell in a new Funny or Die video.

“I’m on the set of my new live action cat comedy but I wanted to take a few moments to talk with you,” Thiessen says. “Not only am I directing, producing and doing all the voices for the live action cat comedy, I’m also working with NASA on a new fuel cell for the next space shuttle.”

While the “Saved by the Bell” reunion is a good idea, the actress claims to have 100 to 150 great ideas in front of that one, including making a documentary about how busy she is with all her ideas.

Although Thiessen did find time to reunite with her “Saved by the Bell” castmates for the cover of this week’s People magazine, Fallon may need to postpone the reunion show as she tries to balance her busy schedule.

She concludes, “So Jimmy, thanks for trying to organize a reunion, but can we connect in a couple of months? Because like Oprah, Madonna and Queen Elizabeth, I’ve got a ton of stuff going on.”

USA is close to giving a series order to “White Collar,” with the pickup expected to be sealed after final details are worked out.

“Collar,” from Fox TV Studios and creator Jeff Eastin, revolves around the unlikely pairing of a brilliant con artist (Matthew Bomer) and the head of the FBI’s white-collar crime unit (Tim DeKay).

Tiffani Thiessen, Marsha Thomason and Willie Garson co-starred in the pilot, which was directed by Bronwen Hughes.

With the odd couple at its center, “Collar” could be a potential companion for the James Roday-Dule Hill starrer “Psych,” whose longtime lead-in, “Monk,” is headed into its final season.
